 All functions marked with a * can also be included in a toolbar.

9.1 Imageviewer Display Options

Image Information: BCS-2 is able to show image information (size, resolution, colour depth, …). Those information can be shown in the information menu. If you are using the OCR, several formates can be checked.

*Toggle vertical splitline: Runs to seperate parts of a page, if vertical split lines are present. Split lines can be selected by using icons or in the view menu.

*Toggle horizontal splitline: Runs to seperate parts of a page, if horizontal split lines are present. Split lines can be selected by using icons or in the view menu.

*Toggle erase inner: The content of the selected area will be coloured white. The area is temporarily saved in clipboard. It only can be paste as a new image or transferd into a new document.

*Toggle erase outer: The content  ouside the selected area will be coloured white.

*Invert: Change image colours.

Equalize: Correct image. (For images made with a camera)

V-Shape Correction: The angel of the book cradle will be eliminated.

*Remove black borader: Black areas around the scanned image will be coloured white.

*Grayscale: The colour image will be  shown as grayscale image. It’ll convert into a 8bit grayscale image after confirming by saving the process.

*Dispeckle: Remove little dots (impurities) on an image automatically. It is recommended to use this function on bitonal (black-white, 1 Bit per pixel) scans.

*Deskew:  Deskew image automatically.

*Manual Deskew: You can draw a line to define the angle of deskewing by holding left mouse key. A correction angel will be shown too, while drawing the deskew line.

Automatical cut: The page on the image will be recognized automatically. Then the image will be cut. With the Auto-Crop mode you are able to set if you want to convert only a part of the page. BCS-2 will save this setting for further jobs.

Border value are the pixels which either will be left outside or will be deleted inside the area.

  • Value 0: The software tries to recognize the margins of the page.
  • Value 0-1.000: The higher this value is the more of the margin will be deleted.
  • Value- 1.000-0: The lower this value is the more of the margin will be left.

Automatical cut with book fold recogniction: The page will be recognized automatically. The image will be cut.

  *Interactiv image correction: Set colour, contrast, brightness, gamma values and saturation colour of an image.

*Enhance contrast: Enhance contrast of colour or grayscale scans afterwards

*Lower contrast: Lower contrast of colour or grayscale scans afterwards

*Mirror horizontally

*Mirror vertically

* Extract single page: The page on an image will be recognized, cut out and deskewed automatically 

* Extract page: The page on an image will be recognized, cut out and deskewed automatically 

*Rotate 90°

*Rotate 180°

*Rotate 270°

      *Rotate -1°

    *Rotate +1°

9.2 Adjust Images

With the function adjust images you can set brightness, contrast, gamma value and colour saturation of the image afterwards, just as the threshold of the binarization.

These are the adjust settings:

  • Brightness
  • Contrast
  • Gamma Value
  • Colour Saturation

9.3 ICC-Profile Functions

In the Image menu there are the following ICC-Profile functions, which depend on the marked images in the current job.

  • Attach ICC-Profile: The browser opens. You can select an image to attach.
  • Remove ICC-Profile: An attached image can be removed and deleted.
  • Remove ICC-Profile and save: An attached image can be removed. The image will be saved after you have selected a memory location.

Is an ICC-Profile available, you can check with the function: Image Information. If a profile is available it is shown:

ICC Profile can be attached or removed by using batch operations. These functions can be selected with: Apply operation on Job, in the job menu.
