8.1 Adjustment Functions

The View menu contains five functions which facilitate the handling of images in the work area, especially when working with large images.

 

bcs2_original_sizeOriginal Size

The image is displayed in its original size (1:1). Every captured pixel is shown, so the display of the image may be quite large.

 

bcs2_fit_to_widthFit to Width

This function will enlarge or reduce the image to precisely fit the width of the window. The proportion (aspect ratio) of the image is preserved. If the size of the window is changed, the image will adapt accordingly.

 

bcs2_fit_to_heightFit to Height

This function will enlarge the image or make it smaller to exactly fit the height of the window. The proportion (aspect ratio) of the image is preserved. If the size of the window is changed, the image will adapt accordingly.

 

bcs2_fit_to_window2Fit to Window

This function fits the image to height and width of the window.

 

Maximize Window

AutomaticallyIf this function is active, the window is always maximized on the desktop. This option can be very useful and is usually recommendable.

 

8.2 Zoom Functions

Zooms into the image.

Zoom out of the image.

 

The Zoom in and Zoom out functions can also be accessed via the context menu with a right mouse button click. If you only wish to enlarge a specific region of the image, mark it and the program will automatically display the marked region.

Scrolling and Zooming with the Mouse

It is possible to move within an image in BCS-2® via the mouse, i.e. to scroll. This means the image is moved up/down or left/right in order to see different sections of the image. You can also zoom in and zoom out of an image.

Turning the mouse wheel will vertically scroll the image. You can also scroll horizontally if you hold the SHIFT key while turning the mouse wheel.

Holding the CTRL key will zoom in and out of an image, depending on which way the mouse wheel is turned.

8.3 Walk Up Emulator

Included in the basic BCS-2® Version is the Walkup Emulator, a kiosk-module designed for the use as a scan station in the self-service sector. Detailed descriptions of the WalkUp Options are offered in the module documentation.

8.4 Color Tracking

The BCS-2® Color Tracker allows you to select a color from an image in order to use it as a fill color for certain image operations.

After selecting the option Color Tracking from the menu View a dialog window appears, in which the color tracking can be activated for the current viewer and the pixel size of the tracking area can be set.

Activating the color tracker will lead to the enhancement of the mouse curser in the form of a square, its dimension in accordance with the pixel value defined in the dialog window. With this square an area within the image can be determined. The decimal and hexadecimal RGB values are displayed in the upper area of the viewer. Current designates the calculated RGB value within the square, whilst Selected specifies the RGB values up to this point. In addition these values are visualized through the corresponding background color.

Colors are selected by a simple click; a following double click will end the Color Tracking Mode and save the selected color. The selected color can then be used in all orders during the current BCS-2® session for following image operations:

 

  • Deskew
  • Rotation
  • Drag zone and erase inner or outer area.
