9. C-3 Plus (only Professional)add chapter
C-3 Plus is a semi-automated system for the indexing of tables of contents that are available as images. The C-3 Plus module is required for use.
C-3 Plus Configuration of the RuleSuite
With the rule suite, you create rules according to which BCS-2 captures search targets and uses existing OCR data.
C-3 Plus Rules: The administration and configuration of C-3 Plus rules is done locally or globally::
- Globally: If several BCS-2 stations work with one template set, the global template file is located on a central network drive. You can create and save all templates via a defined BCS-2 station. All other BCS-2 stations access this template file(s) only for indexing.
- Locally: Alternatively, you can edit and configure template files locally on the BCS-2 stations. An export or import of templates of other stations equipped with C-3 Plus is always possible.
Rules (1)
Use a global Template File for C3+ Templates: The role that BCS-2 assumes in the creation of templates is determined during ongoing operation before each development.
Master: Allows you to create and edit global C-3 Plus templates in BCS-2.
Slave: Allows the use of global C-3 Plus templates on this station. There are no editing rights.
Folder for global Template-File: By clicking on the “Select” button, you navigate to the storage location of the template file.
Initialize global Template-File: By initializing, BCS-2 creates a central template file that is linked to the BCS-2 license when “write access” is activated.
BCS-2 confirms the successful creation and initialization of the template file by a green bar in the upper frame of the window.
Due to the initialization with activated “read-only access”, BCS-2 uses the central template file during indexing. BCS-2 confirms the successful reading by a yellow bar in the upper frame of the window.
C-3 Plus Templates (2)
In the list, BCS-2 displays all locally available templates with their configuration.
Rulename: Name under which BCS-2 displays the template in the application’s drop-down list.
Author: Author of the template and the rule.
Active: If a rule is active, it can be used in the C-3 Plus workflow.
Sortmode: OCR sortmode.
ZDB-ID: ZDB-ID of the templates.
other ID: Unique ID of the template.
Description: Optional description of the templates.
Whether a template can be selected via the template selector (drop-down list) in the application is determined by activating the checkbox before the name of the template. Use the buttons on the right side of the list to create new rule templates or edit, export and import existing ones. The following options are available:
New: Opens the form to create a new template.
Edit: Opens the form to edit the template previously selected in the list.
Clone: BCS-2 clones the template selected in the list.
Rule-Editor…: Calls the rule editor with the rule associated with the template.
Import: Imports an existing template file.
Import multiple… : Imports multiple template files in one operation.
Export: Exports the selected template.
Export multiple…: Using the called form, you select several template files that BCS-2 exports in one operation.
Delete: Deletes the selected template.
Globale Stop Words/Separators (3)
Using the forms that you call up via the “Edit” buttons, you define stopword and separator lists for authors. BCS-2 automatically stores this as a search target for “authors” when creating a new template.
GND-ID Query Settings (4)
Here BCS-2 displays the script for the GND query of the authors.
