3.2 Problems with the image viewer quality with certain settings add section
Windows settings influence the 1:1 view in BCS-2. The image size, which is displayed, corresponds exactly to the percentage factor of the Windows setting. (In the settings in Windows for text, apps and other elements a percentage can be set, which then influences the size of the font and the icons in the interface. )
The reason for the enlarged display in BCS-2 is the interaction between BCS-2 and windows. The percentage factor can be queried internally and corresponds to the value in the Windows display settings.
When BCS-2 displays the scans in the 1:1 view (meaning one pixel of the scan corresponds to one pixel on the screen) the Windows factor comes into play and is is used to “enlarge” individual pixels, that leads to artifacts and “supposedly” poorer image quality. To avoid this problem a new function “Enable High dpi Scaling (relevant for 4K Monitors or Retina Displays)” was implanted. If this function is activated, the scaling for apps, text and other elements stored in the Windows settings are not taken into account by BCS-2. This prevents the 1:1 view from being scaled incorrectly.
